Welcome to Mrs. McCarter's Classroom!

I am a graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in English Education. Before I began teaching, I worked as a tutor at the Hugo Middle School, and I worked for a drug dog company educating and searching in order to keep students safe. This will be my 20th year to teach high school English. I have taught a wide range of classes including: creative writing, journalism, humanities, and all four sections of English.

I hope to be able to help all students to think outside the box and learn to appropriately express themselves. We will study a variety of material and practice numerous skills in a effort to be as successful as we possibly can be throughout life.
