I examine how to use technology to enrich the learning experiences of children. Currently, I am taking traditional cognitive tasks for children and transforming them into physically active video games to investigate whether we can improve cognition in preschool-aged children through video games that promote both cognitive engagement and exercise. I also study the impact of varying visual presentations in storybooks on children’s developing reading, learning skills and understandings, and the design of reading materials that might be especially useful for children with less developed attention regulation.
In my free time I work out, draw, paint, and sculpt.
