I grew up on Simpsonville, South Carolina and attended Greenville County schools. I graduated from Erskine College in Due West, South Carolina with a degree in Elementary Education. I taught fifth grade for 3 years at Merrywood Elementary School in Greenwood District 50. My husband and I then moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama where I taught sixth grade math and science for 6 years. After moving back to the Upstate, I have taught fourth grade and fifth grade at Midway Elementary School in Anderson 5. I especially enjoy teaching science!
My husband and I have one daughter named Emma Grace. My husband teaches history at Erskine College and Greenville Technical College. We have a mini farm in Honea Path. I raise goats, chickens, and rabbits. My daughter loves to show her Silkie chickens and rabbits at 4H shows. She is looking forward to attending more rabbit shows with her English Spots. Most of my weekends are spent taking my daughter to rabbit shows or 4H events! In my spare time, I enjoy drawing and painting. My specialty is painting pet portraits on Christmas ornaments.
I have always enjoyed learning and helping others to learn. Teaching allows me the opportunity to continue to educate myself as I help others learn. I enjoy working with children, and being a teacher allows me the wonderful opportunity to work with children from a wide variety of backgrounds. I am also an active volunteer with the Abbeville 4H club.
I am looking forward to working with your child this year!
