Mrs. McClellion

Hey everyone! I am Emily McClellion, the K-5th Resource teacher here at Midway Elementary School. I am so excited for this school year and am looking forward to learning and growing with each of you!

Get to know Mrs. McClellion

My name is Mrs. McClellion, but you can just call me Mrs. Mac!

I grew up right down the road in Williamston and graduated from Palmetto High School. There, I gained a passion for working with students with special needs and learned that my calling in life is to become a teacher. Additionally, Palmetto is the place where I met my husband, Derek, and although we did not graduate the same year, I still call him my high school sweetheart!

This is my third year teaching Resource at Midway and I am thrilled to see some familiar faces here soon! I attended both Greenville Technical College and Anderson University to pursue a degree in Special Education: Multi-Categorical (K-12.) I love working with students and helping them have that "a-ha!" moment when learning a new skill, so I know I am exactly where I'm supposed to be!

Derek & Mrs. Mac

We got married on October 22, 2022 in Charleston, SC. Fun fact: we got engaged in Charleston at The Pineapple Fountain on The Battery, too. Some of our favorite things are trying new recipes and playing video games. We also love to travel to new and beautiful places together, especially on a cruise ship! What's your favorite place you've travelled to?

Our fur babies, Obi & Boba

These are our babies, Obi and Boba, like the characters from Star Wars! Obi is a 7 year-old pit/lab mix and he is always super snuggly. Boba is a 2 year-old tabby and he keeps us on our toes at all hours of the day and night! I'd have 100 more animals if I could! Do you have any pets?

I could share pictures from our wedding all day long! This is my sweet family. My brother, Nick, is on the left, my mom, Angie is on the right and my dad, Kyle, is behind me. Fun fact: Nick was a groomsman for us! I am so grateful that they were able to be there for my wedding day and I love them all! Have you ever been to a wedding?

Some of my favorite things include: shopping on Amazon, getting coffee at Starbucks, enjoying some Chick-Fil-A, or just spending quality time with my family. After a long day, give me any one of those things and I am a happy girl! Additionally, I love Clemson athletics, and in the Fall you are likely to find me cheering on the Tigers in Death Valley. I am always up for an adventure, and it's even better if Obi can tag along!
