Welcome to the 2018-2019 School Year at Robert Anderson Middle School!
My name is Marcy Robinson; I will be teaching your child 7th grade science. This is my 18th year as a public school teacher. Not only am I a teacher but I have been blessed with 5 diverse children ranging in age from 17 years old to 22 years old. I am confident I will be able to connect with your student. I will treat them as I would want my own children treated.
My goal as an educator is to prepare each student to become a lifelong learner. I will provide a safe environment that will promote creative and critical thinking skills.
This year 7th grade science includes The Chemical Nature of Matter, Cells and Heredity, The Human Body, and Ecology. Exactly what the state requires students learn can be accessed through the state department’s website or by clicking here.
Please feel free to contact me by email which is firstname.lastname@example.org. I realize sometimes questions or concerns arise after hours. Please feel free to contact me at home at 864-622-8007 or on my cell phone, 864-300-4860.
Supplies needed are 4 spiral one subject notebooks, one per 9 weeks, and pencils. Optional supplies (and very helpful) would be colored pencils, highlighters, and clear tape.
The grading scale is as follows:
A 90-100, B 80-89, C 70-79, D 60-69 F 0-59
The overall grade is calculated based on the following percentages:
Tests/Projects are 35%
Quizzes are 30%
Homework is 5%
Typically, I expect each student to spend 10-15 minutes a night studying or completing an assignment. Rewriting notes or making flash cards can improve a student’s achievement.
Together we will make this a WONDERFUL, successful year.
