Are you hoping to build and grow your support system? We are here for you, dearest caregivers!
Over the six and a half months since our launch in February, the Caregiver to Caregiver Respite Network (C2C) has been growing, evolving, and expanding our reach.
We have delivered presentations about the program to potential referral sources including the Department of Developmental Services, Department for Children and Families, Pediatric Palliative Care Network, Insurance Resource Center at UMass Chan Medical School, and many others.
We have also represented C2C at national conferences and webinars, such as the 2024 Family-to-Family Health Information Center Virtual Convening, Volunteer and Faith-Based Respite Learning Collaborative hosted by ARCH National Respite Network and Resource Center and Office of Special Education Programs annual convening.
And, in case you missed it, we hosted a Live Event on social media on August 1, where participants in the program shared the impact of the program on their lives.
We are asking our incredible network of partners, parent leaders, collaborators, and family-facing organizations to help us spread the word about the C2C Respite Network.
As of July 1st, C2C Network has become 102 caregivers strong, 20 of whom have been matched to receive and provide respite. We couldn’t be more excited to see participation from a diverse pool of caregivers who speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Korean, Vietnamese and Arabic.
Offering caregivers respite - a chance to take a break from the demands of caring for children and family - is the primary goal of our program. Beyond that, many of our participants have shared that since joining C2C Network, they no longer feel isolated and their children have made friends.
Families also benefit from free learning opportunities available through the C2C Online Learning platform. Videos and printable materials are available in all of our program languages. Topics include culturally responsive respite, fire safety, CPR and First Aid, and more. There is also a community board for sharing with other caregivers and a multilingual resource library. The platform also features original artwork by disabled artists from Cape Cod CAN (Collaborative Arts Network).
