Michael Hwang is the founder and principal lawyer of Amicus Lawyers.

Michael was born in Seoul South Korea and immigrated to Canada in 1972. As one of the first lawyers in Western Canada to be fluent in Korean, Michael had the privilege and obligation to serve the diverse needs of the Korean-Canadian community in B.C. In addition to assisting thousands of individual and corporate clients with all aspects of immigration and settlement in Canada, Michael provided public legal education and pro bono legal services in partnership with many non-profit organizations and helped to train many visible minority lawyers and legal assistants.

Michael's pursuit of excellence, social justice and community service has kept him busy and involved with many community organizations including:
