A little about me.......

• Hi, My name is Derek Bent. I have been teaching science (and sometimes math) at AMS since 1997! Yes, I may have had your parent(s) as a student. I live in southern Maine with my wife and 3 kids. I also have a cat, a dog, a hamster, a turtle, a fish, and 4 chickens.

• Anyway, I believe in having some fun while we learn, and I will do my best to stimulate your curiosity. There is so much to explore in the world of science (past, present, and future), that we will always seem to be running out of class time. If you are respectful, willing to work, and up for lots of laughs while we learn, then you just might like this class!
