About Me!
About Me!
Hello and welcome to the AMS Library Media Center! This is my 8th year at AMS, and prior to coming to AMS I was the librarian at AES for 4 years. Before coming to Amesbury I worked at Phillips Academy, Stanley School in Swampscott and Shore Country Day School. Of all the beautiful schools I had the opportunity to experience, AMS is where I chose to call home.
What I love the most about AMS is the unique teaching library model. Every day of the school year classes come to the library and I co-teach units with all grade levels and subjects. Before I became a librarian, I was a classroom teacher for 12 years. Here at AMS, my teaching skills are as important as my skills as a library media specialist.
On a personal note, I live in Topsfield with my husband Jim, and I have 4 children( Molly, James, Laura and Lindsey and a dog Luna).
In my spare time I own and operate a candle business, The Good Llama Co. My favorite way to relax at home is to pour a cup of tea, light a candle and curl up with a book. I believe I have been discovered a lifestyle that allows me to pursue my passions (reading, making candles and teaching), while earning an income!

About our Program!
We have an active library program involving collaboration and co-teaching with the classroom teachers. The library has a flexible schedule and every day is different depending on the grade level and project or unit.
A few of the units that are held each year is the sixth grade library orientation in September, research projects, book talks and various other academic projects.
Students don't need to wait until their teacher has signed them up to come to the library. The may ask their teachers for a pass and to the library and come as often as they wish.
Homework Club!
Homework Club!
Homework Club is held in the library after school on Monday and Tuesday from 2:25-3:25. Students may return and/or borrow books at that time as well. A registration form will be sent home in September, but students may sign up for Homework Club at any time during the school year. The best part about the homework club is it's free!
