Program overview
Blossoming from the Emergency Medical Services Profession (EMSP) Supplemental Instruction, this program now encompasses the entirety of programs housed within the First Responders' Academy at the Plains Blvd Campus.
Students attending classes in other programs have been able to receive additional assistance from a subject-specific tutor with course work and study skills. EMS is where it started, and now all programs will have this too.
The main focus through Tutoring is to assist with course materials, but more so how to digest these materials effectively and efficiently by means of specified study tactics catered to students' best learning styles.
About me
I have a Masters of Education; this degree was utilized to build a Professional Counseling career after a teaching career, up until I chose to seek a career in Medicine. I'm heading to Medical School so to practice World Health within refugee camps, natural disasters, and war zones.
During my career in mental health, I spent a significant amount of time conducting a battery of assessments to determine many things; of which, learning types/disabilities was a primary concentration. My focus within Supplemental Instruction, among assisting comprehension of the material to those who seek assistance, is to help others to better understand their learning styles and the study skills best suited to pair with those styles of learning they work with best.
I have made several efforts to be as accessible as possible; though I may not respond right away, I will respond as I am able, and I will strive to reach back out within 24 hours of when you send your original message. Please note my hours of availability; I cannot be expected to respond outside of these hours; even if I have in the past, this does not guarantee I will every time in the future.
