How You Can Support Walk to School Week

2. Are you active on a local sports team or club?  Show children your enthusiasm for traveling actively and keeping fit by handing out stickers (or other give-aways) at the school gate whilst wearing your club's t-shirt. You'd be very welcome to have a table at one of the Park and Stride Locations as well to promote your club.  Please contact our Lead Volunteer, Mark Lam, at walktoschool@alwoodley2030.org.

3.  Help Make Signs! We need a few more DIY signs and banners to mark Park and Stride Locations. Please contact Jen at info@alwoodley2030.org if you like an art project.

4. Join in the fun! Why not try walking or cycling to work during the week to reduce congestion even further? Cycle North is even offering free consultations to adults in Alwoodley who would like someone to help map out a safe and quiet route to work, and practice the route with a Cycle Trainer.  And local residents Louise Jennings and Sarah Irwin are offering to cycle from the Village Green to Leeds University on Friday 10th May. Contact us for details.

If you have further ideas, or want to get involved with this initiative or other Alwoodley 2030 climate and nature activities, we hope you'll be in touch.
