I'm so excited to be teaching 8th grade students for the first time in 21 years in education! As the Advanced Academics Specialist here at Rodeo Palms Junior High, I will be teaching 8th grade Humanities in the mornings and checking in with and helping our GT and Advanced Academics students and teachers in the afternoons. I've been teaching for 21 years, with 20 of them in Alvin ISD, mostly as a junior high ELA teacher, and that's a lot of reading and writing!
I'm from Louisiana, but moved to Texas when I married a Texan 21 years ago. He's a TEXAN and I'm a SAINT...of the New Orleans Saints! I have a daughter and a 5 year old grandson who is starting Kindergarten at Alvin Elementary and a granddaughter and another granddaughter on the way in November.
My Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern State University is in English Education, which I earned in 1999. I also attended the University of New Orleans for one semester to complete my bachelor's degree.
