Greetings Parents and Students:

Welcome to Nolan Ryan Jr. High's Art Department.

Are you ready for a great school year?!?

I am very excited to have the opportunity to share my passion for art with you all.

I have the pleasure of teaching Art 1 and Art 2 courses this year.

Bio:

I am a Houston native who chose to pursue my education locally. I am a big proponent of community college and attended Lone Star College where I received my Associates of Arts in 2018. It was during my time at Lone Star College that I realized I was meant to pursue art and experiment with creating for a living.

I transferred to the University of Houston to finish my undergrad and studied under their Sculpture program. I love Sculpture because of the freedom it gives the artist. I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Sculpture and a Minor in Art History in 2020. I graduated from Rice University with my Education Certification over the Summer of 2022. This will be my second year teaching art with Nolan Ryan JH.

I work with many materials and media in my art practice. My recent creative obsessions are making rugs and prints, but I have also always enjoyed painting, performance, and collage.

Fun Facts:

Cat person!

I got to study art in China in 2019.

My favorite colors are grey, yellow, and orange.

I have never broken a bone. *knock on wood*

I hope for all my students, whether they want to be an artist or not, that they leave my class with tools they can use to express themselves, their feelings, and their desires for our world.
