All About Me

Dear Students and Parents,

I am so excited to be your librarian this year! This will start my 16th year in education. I taught both second and third grade for four years. I was the librarian at an elementary school in HISD for seven of my ten years of service there. To help get to know each other a little better, I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite day to day things.

FAMILY: Mr. Russell and I have been married for 13 years. We have two boys, Glen age 10 and Jonas age 8. Our extended family is spread out all over the world, but I was born and raised in Alabama.

BOOKS: My favorite passtime is reading! I love reading books for young kids, adults, and every age inbetween. One of my favorite parts of being a librarian is connecting kids with great books. I believe there is a perfect book for every students and a perfect student for every book!

HOBBIES: I am a black belt in TaeKwonDo. I love plants and gardening. I enjoy riding my bike with my boys. My newest hobby is raising butterflies.
