Mrs. Lakeisha Diaz

Welcome back to the 2021-2022 school year. It is awesome to be a Razorback!

This is my fifth year teaching science at RPJH. I am delighted to begin this 2021-2022 school year as a 7th Grade APA, MAP and Regular Science teacher that will help facilitate the growth and understanding of Life Science.

I was born and raised in Chicago, IL and I currently live in Manvel with my husband and two of our daughters. My oldest lives in Johnson City, TN with her husband.

I'm an advocate for quality education and I'm passionate about developing the young minds that will shape our world. I have always been a teacher in any setting or career that I have held.

I understand what hard-work is because of the perseverance, grit and the sacrifice that I witnessed from role models around me. I view education as the road to freedom because education helps place individuals on a pathway of continual growth. There are many inequities that separates and divides us but education and its pursuit brings us together. I am very passionate about educating the whole child and I look forward to a fabulous year with your children.

This year one of our biggest goals will be to create an environment where students are owning their learning which means that a learner is motivated, engaged and self-directed. It means they can monitor their own progress and are able to reflect on their learning based on mastery of content.

Communication is very important therefore I will use this as the key to successful partnerships and relationships with students and parents in my class.
