Alvarado Independent School District / Departments / Child Nutrition / Summer Meal Program 2021
Our children need nutritious meals to learn, grow, and thrive - even when school is out. With the Summer Meals Program, children and teens ages 18 and younger can continue to eat healthy throughout the summer at no cost, just by showing up at a participating meal site.
No form of identification is required, kids simply show up. The Summer Meals Program is administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
Children and teens eighteen and younger will be able to receive both a breakfast and a lunch through our grab and go lines each school day between 9:00 and 10:00 AM. Breakfast and lunch will be bundled. There is no need to get out of your car. Just pull up, pop your trunk, or roll down your window and our staff will put the meals in the vehicle for you.
If your child is not in the car with you, you will need to show a school ID or their birth certificate to receive meals. If your child is in the car with you, verification is not required.
Meals will be distributed in the bus lane behind the school Car lines will be formed starting in the back of each school, extending to the front. Please enter through the Northmost entrance off of the access road.
