Challenges in the separation of critical raw materials from several sources shed light on the development of new materials designed to face several applications, including mining waste, low-grade ores, e-waste, and industrial/municipal wastewater. The use of residues for the synthesis of new adsorbents is well-stated in literature, but the application for real wastewater and the knowledge for large scale is still lacking. Green materials can be used to design polymeric membranes for electric-driven force separation and promoting a better supply chain and low price.
