Dr. Irandi is a Jakarta-based consultant pulmonologist with certified expertise in interventional pulmonology and respiratory emergency care. Dr. Irandi is available to provide you with professional consultation for asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease (ILD), lung cancer, pneumonia, tuberculosis, and other pulmonary diseases. Dr. Irandi is also providing pulmonary procedures: transthoracic lung biopsy, transbronchial lung biopsy using bronchoscopy, lymph node biopsy, pleural space tapping and biopsy, ambulatory chest tube placement, and other specialized procedures.
Respiratory Clinical Procedures
Bronchoscopy
A minimally invasive procedure to diagnose your lungs or airways problems. This bedside procedure lets the doctor visualize and detect airway abnormalities and allows the doctor to evacuate aspirates and obtain tissue samples from airway tumors while you are being sedated.
CT-guided Lung Biopsy
A CT-guided lung biopsy involves taking tiny tissue samples from your lung. During the process, CT imaging is used to provide a live image of your lung. The tissue samples are then removed with a tiny needle. In a lab, the samples are examined for cancer and other issues.
Thoracostomy
A chest tube thoracostomy is a procedure of inserting a chest tube. A hollow plastic tube is introduced between your ribs into the pleural space during chest tube insertion. The tube will remain in place until the fluid, blood, or air in your chest has been evacuated.

Academic and Research Activities
Dr. Irandi is also an active lecturer at Universitas Indonesia for graduate and postgraduate students. Dr. Irandi and his staff, particularly at the Universitas Indonesia Hospital, Depok, Indonesia, teach medical students through polyclinic work, inpatient visits, case discussions, case presentations, and clinical performance evaluations. Dr. Irandi also teaches interventional pulmonology procedures to the pulmonology residents.
Dr. Irandi is also a researcher at Universitas Indonesia. Dr. Irandi is participating in several single-centered, national, and international research studies, especially in infectious and immunological lung disease, genomics, and bioinformatics.

Professional Activities
Dr. Irandi is a member of several national and international professional organizations. Dr. Irandi's professional activities include: serving on the editorial boards of scientific journals, acting on a committee, and participating in numerous working and research groups. Dr. Irandi is also appointed as an assessor-in-training for nationwide hospital accreditation in one of the independent institutes in Indonesia.
