As a scholar and creative artist I’m inquisitive about all histories. After studying history at Fordham University, I completed my grad studies at Brown University as a Graduate Fellow for the Study of the Public History of Slavery, supported by their John Nicholas Brown Center for Public Humanities and Center for the Study of Slavery & Justice. My foremost work is the Periwinkle Initiative, which is a public history initiative I created dedicated to creating an archive for burials and cemeteries of former slaves. The National Burial Database of Enslaved Americans (tentatively titled) will be the first archive of its kind for burials and burying grounds of former slaves buried in the U.S.
