Stainless steel

stamped and rivetted

you lie dirty, dusty

in an old box

Stainless steel

once the centerpiece

of a cigarbox

carried perhaps by

a boy, maybe a girl

Given little thought,

you were there

every day

just a shiny new

pair of scissors

Stainless steel

Held in tiny hands

not too sharp

able to shape the fancy

of a young child

Put away

now dirty and dull

the reminder

of many years ago

Times well missed.
