Dear Parents,
Welcome to our new coordinated newsletter, at the start of each week, we hope to send you updates of the coming week as well as a review of the past week
As we begin the building tours this week as per the e-mail sent last Thursday (click here), we have listened to the feedback from parents and are putting an extra tour of the new building in Al Twar 2 on Wednesday 25th September at 7pm-8pm.
Please note we are NOT permitted to have students/children on site whilst the final completion is taking place this week. These tours is strictly for our parents of registered students only.
With ongoing concerns about some parents not receiving e-mails despite being on the mailing lists, households will be issued with 'P-code' e-mail addresses. These are Parent Code Gmsil addresses which will be one per household to be shared by all parents.
Training will be provided in early October on how to onboard though we will issue instructions via e-mail on how to set up the P-code Gmail address.

Dear Parents
As we head towards the end of our time in the ASPS building I would like to take some time to reflect and thank all our stakeholders for enabling an almost seamless transition into our new ASCS premises.
We have had an extremely fruitful and successful few weeks in which Induction was held and courses were started.
Staff, students and parents have worked extremely well together to achieve a purposeful learning environment.
We have used our time effectively to build relationships and continue our academic rigour with great success.
All parents should now have received communication from their son or daughter’s Form Tutor. This is your first port of call should you have any kind of query at all.
You should also have received contact details from our Admissions Team with email addresses for all Form Tutors and Year Leaders.
We have put together some introductions to some key members of the Al Salam Community School Secondary team for your information and future reference. We truly value our partnership with home and value highly all collaboration - so please do keep in touch.
We have enhanced our Secondary Leadership Team here at ASCS to incorporate both a Senior (SLT) and Middle (MLT) Leadership Team. Our Secondary senior Leadership Team (SLT) comprises myself and my three Assistant Heads - Mr Harvey, Ms Sara and Ms Viji. Our Secondary Middle Leadership Team (MLT) comprises a team of Subject Leaders and Year Leaders.
Please see below to meet our new Secondary Leadership Team:

Viji’s teaching philosophy is simple; success is generated by three building blocks: knowledge, critical thinking, and curiosity.
Viji plans to instil all of these in your children while challenging them to do their very best.
Viji has been married for fourteen years and is blessed with a daughter. She likes reading, music and observing people. She thinks that although we are teachers we also go on learning every day and life, itself, consists of life-long learning and the desire to learn!
