Dear Parents,
As-salaam aleykum
We complete our second week of DL, I am pleased to say it has been yet another postive week of learning. As announced by the Ministry of Education, we now this is a long-term commitment for the rest of this academic year. To use an athletic analogy, it is a marathon not a sprint.
We need to find even more inner resolve and patience as we support each other in what will be a very challenging 3 months. That said I am very reassured by the coming together of staff, students and parents.
Many parents have asked about the final grades award for IGCSE, AS and A level; we are still awaiting official confirmation as to how this will be awarded and as soon as we know, I will inform you of the procedures.
There are many useful updates below and I would like to bring to your attention, the Counselling 'Check in' form at the end of this newsletter. The wellbeing and support needed for students (as well as parents and staff) is something we need to ensure we manage in these weeks and indeed months of DL.
I have also reattached links to the recent communications from the CEO and Director below:

Dear parents,
Further to the communication sent yesterday. We would like to inform parents that we have been working closely with our bus provider to support the current situation considering that parents are not availing of the service for Term 3. Please take note of the points outlined below.
a. Transport fee payments already made by parents will be redirected to cover any outstanding tuition fee payments for this academic year. Parents will receive direct communication to confirm in this regard.
b. Where the above is not applicable, parents will be provided with an option to have it transferred to next year's fee payments via a credit note, or to refund the amount.
We request for you to complete this form to indicate your choice.
In cases where the refund is requested, we ask for parents to be patient as they will need to be processed on an individual basis and transferred to personal bank accounts.
Once again we would like to express our gratitude to parents who have been supportive and even expressed concern and offered support for the situation of the bus drivers who served their children during the year. As a school we are committed to supporting the bus company and their drivers, and working with them to ensure the basic needs of drivers are provided for.

We have had an excellent second week of distance learning!
The parental feedback that we have received from the survey and parental engagement sessions has been very valuable and helps the department make distance learning more effective. FS to Year 3 will now be introducing evening live sessions to help support families that cannot attend morning live sessions. Additionally, the Year 4 to 6 schedule has now been changed to accommodate to another break (15 minutes) to allow students a mind break between their lessons.
To help support families further, we have sent tutorial slides on how to use google drive, upload documents and files and access shared folders. We will also be adding more tutorial slides to help support our students and parents further.
Thank you all of our amazing families for supporting the students during this exciting yet challenging time! We assure you, we are #inthistogether.
Ms. Sara El Arbid
Head of Primary School
We would like to thank all parents that participated in the Distance Learning (DL) Survey. The responses were overwhelming and we are happy to announce that majority of responses were positive, with parents mostly agreeing that the First week of DL went well and the majority of our students finding classes and content very engaging.
The survey also provided us some significant information in the areas of time and duration allocated for each class, the length of assignments given by teachers, teacher interaction, and the use of audio and video conferencing tools.
We are carefully looking into all of your suggestions, ideas and concerns to further enhance student-teacher experience. Plans to address these will surely be shared in due time.
Moving forward, we will continue to evaluate our Distance Learning programs and platforms and continue to make it as seamless as possible for all.
