Dear Parents,
Due to a high volume of e-mails, I am very mindful that I am unable to reply to individual e-mails in a timely manner. Therefore, I am pleased to announce my new Personal Assistant, Mrs Heba.
She will manage my diary but also ensure any appropriate response to any queries that you may have. Therefore, please e-mail her for any feedback or issues you wish to raise rather than myself.
She can be reached on: PrincipalPA@alsalamcommunity.ae

Please take a few minutes to read through the safeguarding awareness article below from the school clinic .
We had a wonderful week! Our Year 5 and 6 went to Dibba for an overnight camp where they enjoyed team building, leadership skills and communication skills.
In FS we had an opportunity to share FS practices during our FS Coffee Morning. Parents enjoyed applying the literacy activities and learning how their children are learning in FS. Our Football team also competed externally with other Dubai schools and had a wonderful time!
Our Year 6 students have also started their challenge 'Ditch the Disposables' to promote sustainability and environmental education. Students have started a leader board and challenged their colleagues across Year 1 to 6 to adopt reusable cutlery, water bottles and many more. This week's winner was year 2A.
Last but not least, our school trips have been a great learning experience for students. The Year 3 students visited the Science Sharjah Museum where they explored different interactive exhibitions. We are looking forward to many more trips and activities that focus on the whole learning experience.
Mock exams are going very well as per the schedule.
Students have put in a tremendous effort and we hope to have the results by the end of this month. We will review the results and provide guidance on the next steps for the final examination schedule due to take place in May/June 2020.
Students are now enjoying the benefits of the new timetable with allocated classes in Period 7. This allows more teaching time and ensures any lost learning from Term 1 can be formally caught up.
Cycle 1 reports for Years 7 through to 10 have been published. Progress to end of academic year targets are being monitored by staff and intervention is being planned for any students significantly below targets
