Lake Mountain Middle School

Intermediate Math II/8th grade

On this website you will be able to print classwork, homework, and watch videos of each day's lesson. You should use this website as a tool to help you remember what we discussed in class or to help you catch up if you missed a day. This is a great spot for parents who might be interested in what we are learning in class. This website should never replace paying attention during class, asking questions in class for clarification or understanding, or coming in for additional help if you are struggling.

My classroom is always open for students who have questions, however, before and after school is the best time to get additional help. I am happy to answer any questions or go over anything you may be struggling with at that time. Additionally, students have access to a variety of in school help and I encourage all students to take advantage of these resources, including, lunchtime help, SHIELD time during the day, and afterschool math tutoring.

However, If I am not available, and you have not been able to get help, you may email me anytime. My email address is susanminer@alpinedistrict.org.

About Me

I grew up in Wanship, UT (near Park City) on a 6800 acre cattle ranch. I graduated from North Summit High School and attended Utah State University. I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Public Health Education in 2001. In 2015, I returned to school to obtain my teaching license from Western Governors University and completed my Math Endorsement at that time. I have taught classes previously at Mountain Ridge and Vista Heights, but Lake Mountain is my favorite school and I plan on teaching here for a long time. This will be my 5th year as a teacher!

My husband is Justin and my three daughters are Sierra, Lillian, and Harper. We have lived in Portland, Oregon and Wellsville, Utah before coming to live in Eagle Mountain, Utah, where we have lived for about 6 years now. We love our home by the golf course and play golf two or three times a week in the summer. In the winter, you should look for us on the slopes, we love the Utah snow! I love to travel and, after accomplishing my goal of visiting all the National Parks and Monuments in Utah, I have made it my goal to see all the national parks in the US. I love all types of music and I love incorporating that love of music into my class (request your favorite song to be played in my class!)

Welcome to all my students this year! I am excited to be a part of the 2020-2021 school year at Lake Mountain!

Go Warriors!!
