November 28-December 2: ABC Bootcamp We will be using this week to practice everything ABCs. We will be preparing for our state testing, by doing a variety of drills and activities to increase our letter naming fluency as well as practicing letter sounds, and hearing beginning sounds in words. Please help and encourage your child to practice at home.

December 15: Christmas Day Party We will be celebrating by having a day of service. More details will come home shortly.

December 16: Minimal Day - No KIndergarten

December 16: End of 2nd Term

December 19-January 2: Winter Break

Please make sure to read to or with your child 20 minutes a night. Track your reading on the monthly reading chart, and send back at the end of the month. The minutes will be totaled and help us reach our school goal.

Reading Strategies

We are reading mostly patterned texts. We encourage students to use beginning sounds and pictures to help read unknown words.

Writing

We are currently working on writing narrative stories. We are up to writing two sentences, each with a who and a did what. Students should be using known sight words, and spelling unknown words phonetically (using beginning and ending sounds).

Math

We are working on 3D shapes and reviewing addition.
