We kicked off the school year with a little mystery and a secret agent mission! Principal Eagar and our new Assistant Principal, Mrs. Rebekah Stauffer, introduced students to our new and revised Cougar Code:

...so we can LEARN!
Students also received their first introduction to the Zones of Regulation, a framework we will use throughout the year to help students recognize their feelings, understand what they need, and make choices that help them get ready to learn.

Volunteer Opportunities
We are so grateful for our partnership with the Rocky Mountain Elementary PTA. Their support helps enrich opportunities for our students while also helping meet some of our day to day needs at school.
There are several upcoming opportunities for parents and families to get involved:

Adult volunteers are also needed to assist with our student vision screenings. These will take place on Friday, September 11, 8:30-10:30am. To sign up, click here.

The Rocky Mountain Elementary PTA School Carnival will be Monday, September 21. We are looking for adult volunteers to help make our school carnival a success! There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available throughout the event, and we would love your help. Click here to sign up.

Background Checks Required for All Adult Volunteers
Background Checks Required for All Adult Volunteers
As a reminder, all adult volunteers must have a cleared background check with the Alpine School District before their volunteer opportunity. More information about the background check process is available here.
Secure Entry Procedures
Secure Entry Procedures
As part of Utah’s updated school security requirements, all visitors—including parents and guardians who are known to our staff—must present identification before entering the school.
When you arrive, enter through the main (center) entrance. Upon entering, you will see a black communication box located to your right. This box contains a push-to-talk button for communicating with our front office and a camera used to verify your identification.
After pressing the button to notify our secretaries of your desire to enter, hold your valid photo ID up to the camera (indicated by the small sticker with arrows) so that our secretary can verify your identification. Once your ID has been verified, the office staff will remotely unlock the door, at which point you may proceed to the office for check-in.
Thank you for your cooperation and adherence to these procedures. They are part of a statewide effort to strengthen school security and help ensure the safety of our students and staff.
