Alma Language & Literacy is a pediatric speech language therapy practice that provides individualized speech language and literacy services in Davis, CA. Our model for therapy is designed for multilingual clients to improve their communication skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing across all languages. Therapy sessions are provided in English and Spanish with embedded opportunities for connections between both languages. We specialize in structured literacy implementation for multilingual children of all communication abilities.

Your Alma SLP
Jessica Carrizo, M.S. CCC-SLP is a nationally certified speech language pathologist with extensive experience providing speech therapy to multilingual children with complex communication profiles. Her areas of speciality are multilingual childhood apraxia of speech, dyslexia, and alternative augmentative communication. Jessica is a member of the American Speech Language & Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds a certificate of clinical competence (CCC). She is the owner and founder of Alma Language & Literacy.
Jessica became interested in bilingual research in graduate school where she completed a master's thesis project, The Role of Mixed Dominance in Bilingual Assessment. Jessica participated in the Mind Institute's Northern California Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program and considers herself a lifelong learner. She currently volunteers for Apraxia Kids and is a member of the Northern California International Dyslexia Association (IDA).
In her spare time Jessica enjoys volunteering with her therapy dog Lola and sharing delicious food and drink with great friends.
