First Timer Information about our Lake Placid Camps

Visiting Lake Placid, NY in the summer is an incredible experience. The Adirondack Mountains and the Olympic atmosphere at the OTC (Olympic Training Center) and in the village of Lake Placid are very conducive to young athletes and training. With the availability of the incredible Olympic water ramp facility in Lake Placid, All Out Freestyle gives our athletes the opportunity to train by offering 4 different ramp/trampoline camps this summer and fall. These ramps are not available to the general public.

If you're unfamiliar with water ramps, they are a plastic covered surface that a skier can ski down (in the summer) and go off a jump with your skis on, into a bubbled water landing.

The All Out Freestyle team has been training at the Lake Placid facilities for over 20 years. This facility has three in-ground trampolines with spotting rigs and safety pads around them. This allows for the athlete to work on the mechanics and technical aspect of learning upright, inverted, and off axis tricks in preparation for snow landings. For the younger jumpers, it is the perfect opportunity to learn basic jumps and rotations. Some of our first time athletes even attempt flips off of the ramps. For more experienced athletes, the water ramps are used to learn and qualify their flips for use in competition. Athletes cannot go inverted in competition on snow without qualifying their flips and off axis rotations on the water ramps first. This process of qualifying and learning maneuvers properly has worked very well. This system has provided US Ski & Snowboard a proven track record of minimizing injuries once an athlete makes the choice to perform inverted or off axis maneuvers.
