Utilising cutting-edge pedagogical strategies that seamlessly integrate technology is one of the School's core principles for learning and teaching.
All KLASS secondary school students will be allowed to bring one or two devices of their choice. This is known as Bring Your Own Device (BYOD). This can be a Windows laptop, a Mac laptop, or an iPad. The goal of the policy is to let students use a variety of various devices that are appropriate for their personal use. This enables students to manage their personal time and academic obligations simultaneously on one device. It is up to the parents and students to choose the technology that best suits them.
The BYOD program links directly to our school’s purpose of ‘Spark, Courages, Exploration.’ The key aim for integration of technology in our learning spaces is to ensure that all students have the opportunity to become competent, critical and creative users of a range of digital tools that assist them with lifelong learning. Students will use these devices as a learning tool. As the bulk of classes that involve technology will be browser-based, a wide range of devices will be supported.
In addition to the BYOD programme, the secondary campus also have additional supporting technologies such as computer labs, laptop/iPad carts, and shared computer workstations to facilitate specific lessons that require specialised hardware or software.
Students may enrol up to two devices for coverage under the school's BYOB insurance policy, which covers loss, unintentional damage, and theft while the device is on campus.
Per academic year, the maximum insurance claim allowed per student is RM2,000.
