Device Information

All incoming Year 5 & Year 6 students will be issued the following:

• Lenovo Chromebook 500e Generation 2 (8GB Ram / 64GB eMMC Storage)

• Lenovo 45w USB-C Power Adapter

• Lenovo Thinkpad Pro Pen (Stylus)

• Targus Sleeve Perimeter - 11.6"-13.3"

The Chromebook devices are 2-in-1, which means they have touch screen capabilities and can support a traditional laptop mode, tent mode, or even flipped mode. Furthermore, the Chromebook devices are designed for children, which has greater durability protection with the ability to withstand minor drops and accidental spills in some situations.

All school purchased Chromebook devices while on campus are automatically enrolled and covered under an insurance plan to protect against accidental damages that may occur while students are on campus. Parents of Year 5 & Year 6 students do not need to register the Chromebook devices to be covered under the insurance plan.

Parents will be responsible for any repair or replacement costs that may occur to a Chromebook outside of school.

Required Accessories

• Headphones - Please do not invest in expensive headphones. These accessories usually have a short lifespan and are frequently misplaced. Headphones are not covered under the school insurance plan and are not provided in Year 5 & Year 6.

Optional Accessories

• Computer Mouse - Some students may prefer a wired computer mouse over using a traditional touchpad on a Chromebook.

• Computer Case - There are several computer cases available that will support 11.6" Chromebook 500e Generation 2. This is not required but can provide additional protection for the Chromebook while off-campus.

Device repair & replacement cost will be updated on an annual basis. Please report any missing or damaged device/accessory immediately to The Alice Smith School. The Alice Smith School must handle all product repairs and replacements. Any unauthorised modification, repair, or replacement to a school issued device may result in a full Chromebook replacement fee.
