Expectations:

Language

-listening, understanding, following 2 and 3 step directions with teacher support and guidance

-world knowledge: student has age-appropriate vocabulary EXAMPLES: body parts, feelings, colors, shapes, etc

Reading:

letter/ letter sound recognition, sight word recognition, writing name, writing letters and simple words, CVC words, onset and rhyme, beginning sounds, compound words

Math

-counting objects , one-to-one correspondence, AB patterns, ordinal position with concrete objects, naming shapes, number recognition 1-20, verbal counting 1-30

Home activities:

write your first and last name. ONLY the first letter is a capital letter
spell your name (without looking at it)
Read books, cereal boxes, road signs, etc. Find letters or words you recognize
practice these at home:
- 1. holding your pencil
  2. putting on your jacket without help
  3. wearing your shoes
  4. tying your own shoe laces
  5. using the potty (bathroom) on your own
  6. washing your hands - make a butterfly(washing in between the fingers) and a turtle
  7. use "please" and "thank you" when you want something
  8. say "May I" when asking permission to use your friend's supplies or materials
