Where to find band instruments and materials for the school year?

Does my child need an instrument before school starts?

• No. Students do not need their instrument for the first 2-3 weeks of school. However, if they do have it, they may store it here in the bandroom. I will give students a complete supply list at Open House/Beginning of school

What if we already own an instrument?

• Great! I would recommend taking to one of the stores above to look over for good playing condition, or have your student being it to me to look over once school starts

Do you recommend purchasing an instrument from Facebook Marketplace/yard sales?

• These are good options for inexpensive used instruments, see  brand suggestion above to ensure you are buying a quality instrument

Can I buy an instrument from Amazon/Walmart?

• These retailers do sell instruments HOWEVER, they DO NOT sell reputable brands of band instruments. From my experience, these instruments are difficult to play, have a tendency to break easily and are usually unable to be repaired due to lack of parts. You can find better quality used instruments for the same price at the options listed above to purchase or rent to own. 

What if I can’t afford an instrument?

• No worries Please contact me directly and I will do what I can to put an instrument in your child’s hand. Please don’t let this prevent your child from doing band. There are several options available for obtaining an instrument at a low cost.
