We also want to welcome some new faces...Ms. Risa Sink, our new 8th grade ELA teacher, Mrs. Gurley, Ms. Doster and Mr. Sutherland are our new classified staff! They have joined our Falcon Family and will be working with our students to help them be successful!

Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns! We are always ready to hear your concerns, suggestions and or POSITIVE feedback!! I hope you feel well informed with this newsletter, our weekly connect-ed calls, our DOJO messages and our FaceBook post. I also want to personally invite you to attend our Virtual Family night! Teacher Highlights:

This month, we are highlighting the work of Mrs. Farrah Hartis. Mrs. Hartis has been teaching for 23 years and 20 of those years have been at EAMS in the 6th grade! She is a highly qualified teacher who has taught all 4 core subject areas and is currently focusing on Math. Mrs. Hartis loves to cook (she makes the most fabulous cakes!), as well as draw and read. Her main focus in life is her family; Husband, Josh, daughter, Taryn, son, Cade, and her two dogs Xerxes and Thor. We are so fortunate to have Mrs. Hartis in our Falcon Family! Thank you, Mrs. Hartis, for all that you do for our students, school, and community!

Focus of the Month:

Each month we will be focusing on one of the 7 Habits by Sean Covey. This month we are focusing on Habit #5: Seek first to understand and then to be understood. Additionally, we will be using the following weekly quotes to prompt our students to process this habit.

January 4

“It is better to be a failure at something you love than to be a success at something you hate.”

January 11

“There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.”

January 18

“You are always responsible for how you act, no matter how you feel.”

January 25

“Your behavior is a choice; it isn’t who you are.”
