Aldine ISD's STEMFest is an enriched educational experience, exhibit, and competition that inspires and prepares Aldine students for success in areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Student's receive dynamic and unparalleled opportunities to engage in STEM through showcasing projects from this school year, providing global solutions to real world problems, participating in learning workshops and so much more. This year's theme is centered around transforming our world with an intentional focus on Sustainable Development Goals.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a global call to action that provides a blueprint for developing a better and sustainable future for all. There are 17 interlinking goals selected to address global challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change, and environmental factors.
STEMFest participants that select to participate in the exhibition are NOT required use SDGs but are highly encouraged. However, students entering into the STEMFest Competition are required to select 1 of the 17 SDGs as a problem of practice to either provide a potential solution or bring awareness to others.
