AQA GCSE Combined Science
All Alder Grange pupils follow a GCSE science course in years 10 and 11. The Separate Sciences are available to pupils in set 1. The topics studied for GCSE Combined Science and Separate Sciences are the same except in Physics where Separate Science includes a topic on Space Physics. In addition, the Separate Sciences will go into a little more detail on these topics.
Pupils build on their previous studies, step by step, following a clear path which develops both their scientific substantive learning alongside the necessary disciplinary practical and analytical knowledge needed for GCSE and beyond.
This qualification is called a Double Award, equivalent to two GCSEs. Pupils study a wide range of topics from Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
There are six practical tasks that are carried out as either class practical activities or teacher led demonstrations. Here are some further details about AQA Combined Science.
