Guidance

Spread kindness like confetti, that's the goal of the guidance program.

At Grant Elementary, we're focused on filling other people's buckets, working as a team, and making good choices. Class time is usually spent sharing good news, reading a story, watching a video clip, completing an activity, or playing a game. This Spring we will be learn about Martin Luther King, practice win/win attitude and thinking, synergize to make a class mural, and engage in career exploration.

At the Lincoln Center, third and fourth grade students have been busy learning about bucket filling, the emotional bank account, and the circle of control and no control. This spring we will discuss stereotypes, explore growth mindset, practice positive mistakes, and look into careers. Fourth grade parents, will have the opportunity to present their career to their child's class. I'm so excited for this learning!

5th and 6th grade students at Lincoln participate in the Life Skills Curriculum most of the year. Lessons have included decision making, drug abuse, communication skills, coping with anger and anxiety, and other pertinent life long skills. College and career prep will begin in April and May. Our 6th grade students will also visit the Junior High sometime in May.
