Julie Slagle joined the Albany R-III administrative team in 2019 as the Elementary Principal. Prior to this, Julie had been teaching 1st grade in the King City R-I School District. Julie previously taught 5th grade and Elementary Special Education at King City as well with a total of 16 years at the district. Prior to her time at King City, she taught seven years in the Northeast Nodaway R-V School District teaching High School Special Education and serving as the Special Education Coordinator for the district. She has been on Leadership and Lighthouse teams, served on the Professional Development Committee, coached cheerleading, been sponsor to numerous student organizations and has been involved with Student Council. Julie earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education as well as her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Northwest Missouri State University.
Mrs. Slagle is proud to be a part of the Albany R-III School District. She is excited to serve the students and families of the district through this position.

At VEG Elementary, students from 3 years old in the Wee Care program through students in 5th grade are educated. Students and staff work hard everyday to be lifelong learners and leaders.
School hours 7:55 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.
Students may enter the building beginning at 7:30 a.m.
Breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m. - 7:50 a.m. Tuesday-Friday
Before and after school child care is available Monday-Friday from 6:15 a.m. (Early Birds), and until 5:30 p.m. (Adventure Club)
