High School Diploma & Equivalency (GED/HiSET) Test Prep Orientation
Class Days:
Classes are available Monday through Thursday. No school on Friday.
Class Times:
Classes are available from 3:30 to 9:00 PM
High School Diploma Program (HSD)
Get credits for the high school diploma.
Hex System: In 6 weeks, students can earn up to 2.5 credits per class.
Independent study: Both In-person and through Cyber High. Self-paced with teacher support
High School Equivalency (HSE) Test Preparation Program
Prepare for the GED or HiSET exam. The GED or HiSET exam is equivalent to getting a high school diploma.
We are an official test center for the HiSET exams.
Class is not required to take the test. Please check our Alameda Adult School website for the testing information.
Student Expectations
Professional Attitude: Come to class focused and prepared, put cell phones and headphones away, keep socializing to a minimum, avoid drama, disruption, disrespect, immaturity, and foul language.
Attendance: If a student misses 4 classes in a row, they may be dropped from their class roster. Please contact the counselor if you are planning to be out.
Class Resources Stay in Class: Students will be dropped if they remove books or class materials.
Data Sharing: Alameda Adult School may share student information with regional adult education partners that provide educational programs, and career training and placement services.
NO Smoking/NO Drugs: You may not smoke on or near campus.
Parking: You may park in the parking lot after 3:00 pm or find parking on the street.
NO Visitors. No exceptions.
Concurrent Enrollment with the Peralta Colleges
You can enroll for free at College of Alameda, Laney College, Merritt College or Berkeley City College, while you are an Alameda Adult School student (textbooks and any program/lab fees are not included).
After completing the registration form, please come in person to complete testing and enrollment.
