Motivation

The world is facing a number of challenges related to energy, including climate change, energy security, and economic development. Future energy policy must address these challenges in a way that is sustainable, affordable, and equitable.

Climate change is a major threat to the planet. The burning of fossil fuels releases greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, which trap heat and cause the Earth's temperature to rise. This is leading to more extreme weather events, sea level rise, and other negative impacts.

Energy security is also a concern. The world's reliance on fossil fuels makes it vulnerable to supply disruptions and price volatility. This is particularly true for countries that are heavily dependent on imported oil.

Economic development is another key consideration. Energy is essential for economic growth. However, the current energy system is inefficient and wasteful. This leads to higher costs for businesses and consumers.

Future energy policy must address these challenges in a way that is sustainable, affordable, and equitable. This will require a transition to a clean energy system that is based on renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power. It will also require improved energy efficiency and conservation.

Purpose and Scope

The workshop is expected to make a significant contribution to the development of future energy policy. It will help to ensure that the world's energy system is sustainable, affordable, and equitable for all.

Specific objectives of the workshop include:

⦁To identify the key challenges and opportunities facing future energy policy

⦁To discuss the latest research and development in renewable energy

⦁To explore the economic and policy implications of a transition to a clean energy system

⦁To develop recommendations for future energy policy

The workshop is expected to attract a diverse audience of researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders from around the world. It will be a valuable opportunity to share ideas and collaborate on solutions to the challenges facing the world's energy system.
