Class overview
Some of the skills that students will develop include:
Becoming independent readers, improve their phonics, phonemic awareness, and comprehension.
Correctly using common, proper, and possessive nouns.
Appropriately using end punctuation in sentences.
Writing narratives in which they recount two or more appropriately sequenced events, include some details regarding what happened, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide some sense of closure.
Using strategies such as: adding doubles, doubles plus one, composing and decomposing numbers when calculating.
Using place value to compare two-digit numbers.
Using what they know about direct comparison of objects to use indirect comparison.
How to make scientific observations and record them in writing, pictures and/or graphs.
Reading texts and using media to determine patterns in behavior of parents and offspring that help offspring survive
Use observations of the sun, moon, and stars to describe patterns that can be predicte
Describe people, places, things, and events with relevant details, expressing ideas and feelings clearly.
Locate and distinguish between landforms.

Hello, all!
I'm thrilled to be your First Grade teacher this year. My name is Ms. Rosia, and I'm so excited to guide students through a year of amazing discoveries, fun learning, and unforgettable experiences.
Teaching is my passion, and I can't wait to get to know each and every student. We're going to learn, explore, and have a great time together. In our classroom, we'll be a team, supporting one another and celebrating every success along the way.
Parents, thank you for entrusting me with the privilege of teaching your incredible children. I promise to make this year a fantastic and enriching journey for them.
