Wow! What a week! Eventful, entertaining, emotional and exciting! Here is the link to the Google Photos album which houses all the footage from the event.
Many thanks to our Communications Team Miriam, Tony AND ESPECIALLY Bruno for their amazing work planning and creating the media for the event - including these two videos...:
It is my great pleasure to welcome all the 8 ISSEA sister schools to this year's ISSEA Basketball tournament hosted by AISM.
This is the first time AISM is hosting the ISSEA Basketball tournament and this is also the first time we’ve hosted an ISSEA event in 3 years, since the start of the pandemic. We’ve missed the energy, spirit, friendship and competition an on-site ISSEA event brings.
While you are in Maputo, AISM is your home. Make yourself comfortable and do not hesitate to ask for assistance from any of our students or staff. We are very happy to see you and we hope you all have a successful tournament.

Dear ISSEA Scholar-Athletes and Coaches,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to AISM.
We have been looking forward to this event all year and are absolutely thrilled to host ISSEA Basketball 2023! While you are here, I hope you enjoy our Buffalo hospitality and our beautiful host country, Mozambique. If there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable, please let us know.
This is my 14th year in ISSEA so I have come to really appreciate the value of this organization. While you are here, I hope that you take to heart what I have come to see as the pillars of ISSEA:
Challenge – Challenge yourself to be the very best you can be. It is only when you push yourself to the limits that you will see how strong and how capable you really are.
Competition – Enjoy spirited play at a skill level that goes beyond what you might normally find in many high schools.
Friendship – Make new friends and reunite with old ones as you support each other throughout a challenging tournament.
Fair Play – Most importantly, carry yourself with decorum and show respect for yourself and others. Be either the humble winner or the gracious loser, which are hallmarks of the ISSEA spirit.
I wish you all the best during this tournament. We are truly honored to have you as our guests. Welcome to the American International School of Mozambique.
Sincerely,
Dr. Russ Menard
Director
