Can I get an extension for an assignment?

It's important that we follow the class schedule and complete all work on time. However, I understand that sometimes this isn't always possible. Extensions are available, providing that you have a valid reason and you follow the guidelines in the HS Student/Parent Handbook.

Please note that:
A) Extensions won't be available for some assignments. For example, if you have a piece of writing due on Wednesday evening at 10 pm, and we plan to share or peer-grade that work in class on Thursday, it wouldn't be possible to get an extension for this assignment. Whenever an extension isn't available for an assignment, you will be notified beforehand, and a note would be attached to the assignment on Google Classroom.

B) Valid reasons are required for an extension. Just because a student submits an extension request doesn't mean that they will get an extension.

Effectively Managing Your Time

Managing your time is an important skill. If you have an upcoming commitment, such as a football game or doctor's appointment, and you know that you won't be able to reach an upcoming deadline, you can request one from the teacher using this form. Please remember, that this is merely a request. Filling out this form doesn't entitle you to an extension, and a valid reason is needed in order to get one.

Missing Deadlines

Life doesn't always go to plan. Sometimes, we miss a deadline because for reasons beyond our control. If this happens, you are to complete the extension form. All forms must be submitted no later than 24 hours after the deadline. Any forms without a valid reason or submitted later than 24 hours of the deadline will be refused, and you will be given a zero for that assignment.
