The AIS Employee probation process establishes the beginning of an employee member’s employment at AIS. The probation process provides an opportunity for Reviewers to support and engage with new employees in a range of environments to ensure a high level
of competency during their transition to AIS. Discussions, observations, co-teaching and ongoing scheduled meetings promote
positive mentorship experiences during an employee's first term at AIS. Probation is completed alongside the Let’s Talk Performance Review and the AIS Professional Learning Framework through an approach which is based on high levels of trust, interaction and interdependence.
Probation Structure:
Initial settling in, Code of Conduct and Safeguarding discussions to take place during the first week of teaching.
Regular meetings with Reviewer, with a minimum of four meetings (inclusive of at least one lesson observation (formal) and one observation (informal).
Final meeting and recommendation made by the last week before the end of the term*.

*employees who commence during the term, will complete more than one term Probation and will complete Probation at the end of the first full term of employment at AIS.
