D2L, TechSmith, Zoom, and Epson Projectors

Options for converting face to face instruction to remote delivery include the use of three tools (individually or in combination): D2L Learning Management System, Pre-Recorded Lectures using Techsmith Knowmia, and Live, virtual meetings using Zoom. Learn more about using each of these technologies below.

Techsmith Knowmia - Techsmith Knowmia (TSK) is web-based video creation and sharing platform that supports student engagement in remote classrooms and allows Pre-Record lectures to view on their own time in online classes. For example, you can record PowerPoint Presentations or other classroom demonstrations with Techsmith Relay and then integrate the video in the D2L course shell. Videos can be closed-captioned to meet ADD requirements. (Some editing is required.)

Zoom - Online meeting software to conduct live classes the same day and time they are scheduled to meet. Zoom can also be utilized for office hours, meetings and presentations. Note - because Zoom is being used so widely for all remote workers, you will likely find that the Zoom Video function does not work well (it is an internet bandwidth issue). It is best if you avoid using the live video function when possible and instead use only the Audio function. Videos that are recorded to the cloud can be closed-captioned to meet ADD requirements. (Some editing is required.)
