January 2025 • Home of the Tigers
Welcome Back!
We hope you had a restful holiday break, and we're excited to start off the new year with the beginning of the Second Semester. There are a lot of exciting events happening in January at ECA!
Students return from Winter Break on Tuesday, January 7th. Club meetings will also resume that week. WIDA Testing will be held on January 14th and 15th. There will be no school on President's Day, Monday January 20th. Our Parent Council (School Advisory Committee) meeting is scheduled for Januray 28th from 5:00-6:00 pm, and will be held at the Aims Welcome Center instead of off campus. This will be followed by the Early College Academy Academic Awards Ceremony, also on Januray 28th from 6:00 to 7:00 at the Aims Welcome Center Auditorium.
Student Class Meetings will be happening the week of January 27th (Freshmen on Monday, Sophomores on Tuesday, Juniors on Wednesday, and Seniors on Thursday). Finally, Friday, January 31st is the last day to order a guaranteed copy of the 2024-2025 yearbook before orders become contingent on availablility.
Our next Parent Teacher Conferences will be on Wednesday, Febraury 6th from 4:30 to 7:30. We will also have our FAFSA and College Information night in the Student Support Center as well, more information on that is below in the "Senior's Corner."
We look forward to starting a new calendar year with our staff, students, parents/guardians, and community filled with learning and new opportunities!
“Personal technology device” (PTD) includes any privately owned portable technology device, including but not limited to cell phones, pagers, earbuds, cameras, smart watches, audio and/or video recorders and players, and all other hand-held electronic communication and data storage devices not issued by the District.
District 6 prioritizes a safe and focused academic learning environment for all students. In order to protect the learning environment, the use of personal technology devices (PTDs) during academic periods is prohibited. Furthermore, in the interests of respecting privacy, the use of PTDs in areas like locker rooms or bathrooms, where there is an expectation of personal privacy, is also strictly prohibited.
All personal electronic devices are put away and not in use during instructional time. Devices can be used during passing periods, lunch, and off-block.
What happens when a student is using their phone during class?
If a student is found with a personal technology devise during school instructional hours the devise will be confiscated and securely held at the front office. A parent or guardian of the student will be required to pick up the device during regular school hours.
FAFSA and College Admissions Night
We invite all juniors, seniors, and their families to attend our FAFSA & College Admissions Night on Wednesday, February 5. This event offers an excellent opportunity to meet with representatives from Aims Community College and the University of Northern Colorado admissions and financial aid offices.
Seniors can receive hands-on support to complete their 2025-26 FAFSA, while families will have the chance to ask questions about college applications, financial aid, and the admissions process.
Scholarship Award Letters
Seniors, share with us your scholarship award letters! We recognize scholarship awards in your graduation program and want to include and recognize everyone. Please report your scholarships here.
Students and parents, please make sure you are parking in our designated parking areas, and not in the parking areas that are owned by our neighbors. We have student/parent/guest parking available on the entire west side of the building to the gravel median (both sides are available), as well as parking on the south side and along the building on the east side of the building. There is additional remote parking just north of Peak View Skate Park that is also owned by Aims and is available to anyone wishing to avoid pick up or drop off congestion. Thank you for respecting our neighbors' property, and let us know if you have any questions or need special accomodations.
Access to Aims
Early College Academy students are also Aims students, which means they have access to Aims' Physical Education and Recreation Center (PERC). The PERC offers recreation hours, intramural sports, and activity classes.
Students who wish to utilize the PERC during the 2024-2025 academic year must have a completed
"Minor Waiver of Liability on File".
Parents/Guardians, if you have not done so already, please complete the waiver on behalf of your student.
Questions? Contact the PERC at 970.339.6295 or physical.education@aims.edu
