I am proud to say that I have been an Elementary School Counselor here in the Abington Heights School District for 20 years. Preparation for my professional career began with obtaining my BS in Psychology from Lock Haven University in 1993. I then spent several years gaining valuable experience in the mental health field working with youth and families in the Pittsburgh area, as well as Northeastern PA. I obtained my Masters degree in School Counseling in 2004 from the University of Scranton and have been here at AHSD since then.
I currently work here at Clarks Summit Elementary with students in grades Kindergarten through 2nd grade, supporting social, academic, and career growth through the use of individual counseling, small group counseling, and classroom guidance lessons.
Additionally, I am a member of many support teams here at Clarks Summit Elementary, including our School Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS), Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), Child Study Team, Student Attendance Improvement Team (SAIP), and the Elementary Student Assistance Program (ESAP).

This is my third year with the district, but thirteenth year as a school counselor, having previously been a counselor at North Pocono. My background is in K-12 School Counseling, as well as clinical mental health counseling, and early intervention. I am a proud alumna of Abington Heights and so excited to be at CSE. After graduation, I obtained my bachelors degree in social sciences and psychology from Keystone College and my masters degrees in school counseling and clinical mental health counseling. I am currently working towards my Supervision and Principalship certificate at Kings College.
At CSE, I work with students in third and fourth grade individually, in small groups, teach classroom guidance lessons, and assist families with available outside resources. I often collaborate with teachers, administration, parents/guardians, and outside agencies. I am the co-facilitator of our School-Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS) team, a member of our Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) team, Child Study team, Student Attendance Improvement Program (SAIP) team, Elementary Student Assistance Program (ESAP) team, and a coach for Girls On The Run.
