Junior Year:
Continue to use Naviance and MCIS to help with college planning, career exploration, and ACT test preparation.
Continue to work on and improve your GPA - this year's grades are critical for college admissions.
Take the ACT and possibly AP tests.
Visit colleges you are interested in, meet with a military recruiter or union representative for apprenticeship opportunities.
Search and apply for Scholarships.
Create/update your Raise.Me account with your grades, activities, etc. to earn micro scholarships.
Athletes
Send your sports resume and video to college coaches.
Fill out the athletic recruitment surveys on the college websites.
Fine and Performing Arts students
Explore how the audition and portfolio products work for the admissions process.
Build your portfolios and audition videos.
Investigate summer opportunities
Check out the BHS Career Pathways site.
Sign up on this Google Form for your top career field.
By completing this step, you will be notified and emailed with opportunities throughout to the year. These opportunities could be field trips, speakers, career fairs, scholarships, and more!
College Possible is looking for candidates!
What is it?
Free college-support program through virtual coaching.
Support to find your best-fit colleges, enrolling, and graduating with your degree.
Start your junior year of high school and have a dedicated College Possible coach through your college graduation.
Who can apply?
Juniors (class of 2024) with GPA of 2.0 or higher
Interested in earning a Bachelor's (4 year) degree
Be income eligible: Total family income less than 200% Federal Poverty Line
* All students receiving free or reduced lunch are eligible for College Possible

Login:
Click the “Lock” button on the top right corner from the BHS homepage.
Login with your school credentials.
Select “Naviance Student” - no further login is required.

ACT Test Prep Opportunities
Juniors will take the official ACT test at BHS in April, 2024.
Additional ACT test dates and information can be found here.
The ASVAB will be offered at one of our district high schools each year. The test is free. Sign up with Ms. Wolfe in the Career Center if you are interested.
Scholarships for Juniors
Raise.Me Scholarship Program - RaiseMe is one of the easiest scholarship sources available and helps students in 9th – 12th grades discover colleges and earn scholarships for their achievements throughout high school including grades earned, participation in activities, volunteering, etc.
