ART at AHES!
About Ms. N.
I have been teaching here at AHES for 17 years, but I am originally from Rockville, Maryland. I began my adventures in art as a child with regular trips to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., where I got to see many of the artworks I teach my students about today!
While I teach many different forms of art, my favorites to create on my own are film photography, printmaking, and mixed media collage. Sometimes my art is on exhibit here in town, at the library or the Arts Council! I hold two BA degrees, in Visual Arts and in American Studies, from the University of MD (UMBC); and an MA in Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
I live here in Atlantic Highlands with my four cats and English bulldog.
Favorite colors: Lavender, Gray, Black, Leopard Print
Some of my favorite artists: Remedios Varo, Romare Bearden, Edward Burne-Jones, Man Ray, Amy Earles, Sophia Rapata, Andy Warhol, Frida Kahlo, Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh
Other favorites: reading, coffee, road trips, watching old movies
