The objective of this project is to perform emotion analysis related to the covid19 tweets. We have done spatial as well temporal analysis. We have primarily done 2 analysis - variation of people's emotions in different countries with variation in number of covid19 cases, and variation in people's emotion with respect to specific covid19 related event.
The motivation behind this project was to learn and implement various data collection, cleaning and preprocessing techniques as well as perform data analysis to observe and study some interesting trends.
Variation of people's emotion in different countries as the number of covid19 cases vary. This observation gives us an idea about the emotional journey of people of different countries and how covid19 has affected people's emotion in different countries.
Trends in five emotions - love, sadness, anger, happiness, and neutral are observed for some key events like reduction in cases, Chinese app ban, etc. We performed hypothesis testing. This analysis helped us realize majority emotion of people related to an event and justify it.
