Current List of Teachers - AFO

Supervising Teachers and Teachers of Record

Each student will have one Supervising Teacher, and a Teacher of Record for each of their courses.  The student’s Supervising Teacher will be their main point of contact.  Supervising Teachers support the student and parent in keeping track of the student’s academic progress, navigating online learning, and maintaining a connection to school and they are the student’s go-to person.  Supervising Teachers also make themselves available for learning coaching and coordinating any tutoring with teachers of record.

Teachers of Record are the subject matter experts who will be grading student work in the courses.  Students may reach out to TORs directly with questions, or coordinate with their Supervising Teacher to schedule any tutoring sessions.  All tutoring sessions would happen during typical school hours.

AFO instruction is provided through Edgenuity Courseware with AFUHSD appropriately certified teachers monitoring student progress and being available to answer questions.  None of the instruction is live unless there are scheduled tutoring times; students still have the opportunity to interact with their teachers through email, video, and voice calls.

There is no daily schedule, but students must pace themselves so that they complete the semester on time (December 15, 2023 & May 17, 2024).  Deadlines for graduating seniors are earlier (May 3, 2024).  Finals for each course will be monitored and may be done from home, during school hours, on an AFUHSD Chromebook using GoGuardian.  Students will also take AFUHSD benchmark tests.  These tests will be done in person at their home school.  During the semester, there will be specific information about testing and deadlines.
